Carers
Within the Safeguarding Adults process we
acknowledge the importance of the role and responsibilities of carers.
Although caring for someone can be very rewarding, for some it
can be both demanding and rewarding. Sunderland’s Safeguarding
Adults procedures recognise that all carers are individuals who
need different levels of help and support at different times. It
is important that the wishes, feelings and needs of the carer are
identified and taken into account.
Whilst the ultimate aim of the Safeguarding Adults procedures is
to ensure that the person who is seen as vulnerable is supported
and interventions put in place to keep them safe, it is also important
to note that carers can sometimes be vulnerable too.
