Commission for Social care Inspection (CSCI)
Registers and inspects all care homes and domiciliary care agencies. Responsible for registration and inspection of services providing personal care to adults, such as care homes, domiciliary care agencies, nursing agencies and adult placement schemes. Registered providers and managers must meet the requirement of the Care Standards Act and relevant regulations. Random inspections may be carried out where breaches of regulation are suspected, for example following an allegation of abuse.
