Level 1 Alerter Training
This one-day multi-agency training is specifically designed
for those people identified as Alerter's within the City of
Sunderland’s Safeguarding Adults Procedural Framework.
An Alerter can be anyone who comes into contact with, or has
knowledge of, an adult who is in receipt of, or who may be
eligible for community care services. In particular, this
training is appropriate to any staff or volunteers who work
regularly with adults who require support from others, or
services, to live an ordinary life. Clarity regarding the
appropriateness of this course for you should be sought from
your line manager, Individual Agency Guidance within the Procedural
Framework or from the Safeguarding Adults Team.

Level 2 Responsible Person
This one day multi-agency training is specifically for those
people identified as Responsible Persons within the City of
Sunderland’s Safeguarding Adults Procedural Framework.
A Responsible Person is the person who receives and considers
concerns passed to them by the Alerter. Responsible Persons
are usually, therefore, operating in a supervisory capacity,
often as managers, assistant managers or other such senior
roles within services or agencies. Clarity regarding the appropriateness
of this course for you should be sought from your line manager,
Individual Agency Guidance within the Procedural Framework
or from the Safeguarding Adults Team.

Level 3 Safeguarding Manager
This one day multi-agency training is specifically for those
people identified as Safeguarding Managers within the City
of Sunderland’s Safeguarding Adults Procedural Framework.
A Safeguarding Manager is the person who manages the safeguarding
process and co-ordinates the multi-agency response to concerns
of abuse or risk of abuse. Safeguarding Managers are usually,
therefore, operating in a senior managerial capacity, often
as team managers, area managers or other such senior roles
within services or agencies. Clarity regarding the appropriateness
of this course for you should be sought from your line manager,
Individual Agency Guidance within the Procedural Framework
or from the Safeguarding Adults Team.

Investigation Training
This one day multi-agency training is specifically designed
for Safeguarding Managers and those people who may be involved
as part of the Investigative Team in the Safeguarding Adults
process. Clarity regarding the appropriateness of this course
for you should be sought from your line manager, Individual
Agency Guidance within the Procedural Framework or from the
Safeguarding Adults Team.
Programme Aim
The overall aim of this training is to help participants gain
skill and insight into the need to plan and prepare investigations
in order to achieve good outcomes.
